Program Overview

River City Recovery Ministries is a Christ-centered sober living program dedicated to helping residents grow in faith, maintain sobriety, and build purposeful lives. Our program is grounded in accountability, grace, and the hope of Jesus. Recovery is a journey—we walk it with you.

Orientation Phase

Days 0–14 | Getting Settled

This two-week phase helps new residents adjust to their new environment and begin forming healthy routines.

During this time:

Residents may be asked to temporarily turn in cell phones or internet devices
The buddy system is used when leaving the home
Expectations, routines, and responsibilities are clearly explained
This is a probationary period — we reserve the right to dismiss any resident within this phase if necessary

Our goal is to create a smooth, safe, and respectful transition into the community.

Attention Phase

Months 1–3 | Building Awareness

This stage focuses on learning personal responsibility and identifying specific areas of growth.

During this phase, residents:

Begin or continue working with a sponsor
May begin therapy if needed
Participate in daily structure and class discussions
Start building emotional and spiritual awareness

We focus on helping each person take ownership of their recovery journey.

Development Phase

Months 3–6 | Building Skills

This phase is about learning the tools and life skills needed for long-term success — spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

During this phase, residents:

Begin community service projects
Attend additional classes (anger management, parenting, budgeting, etc.)
Explore future goals with staff support
Employment must be approved by staff to maintain focus on recovery

You’ll begin preparing for real-life challenges while staying anchored in accountability.

Transition Phase

Months 6–12 | Stepping Into Your Future

This final stage prepares residents to re-enter the world with confidence and a plan.

During this phase, residents:

Develop a personal recovery plan with staff
Secure stable employment
Learn to manage a personal budget
Begin the process of finding suitable housing

The goal is to step into life with clarity, tools, and the support of a recovery community.
